An SPF-record specifies which hosts (e-mail servers) are permitted to send e-mails from a domain name.

This is used for fighting spam and phising. For details please see http://www.openspf.org

 

Simple DNS Plus also has an option to automatically provide missing SPF records - see Options dialog / DNS / Automatic SPF section.

 

SPF is short for "Sender Policy Framework" formerly "Sender Permitted From".

 

This record type is defined in RFC4408.
