The price depends on the license size (number of zones) (1) and the number of licenses (2):

(1) License size (number of zones):
The license size that you need (see below) depends on the number of domains (zones) you
want to host on your server.
Note that reverse zones and secondary zones also count towards the license size.
If you will only be using Simple DNS Plus to resolve other domain names on the Internet
(not to host your own domains), then you can use the smallest license size (5
zones).
(2) Number of licenses:
You need one license for each installed instance of Simple DNS Plus (both primary and secondary servers).
Additional license pricing
If you already have one or more current Simple DNS Plus licenses and want to add one more (of the same size),
you can purchase this additional license at the "2 or more licenses" rate from the table above above.

Note that if you purchased a new license or an upgrade on or after
April 23rd 2008, then you are covered by the one year free upgrade protection (v. 5.2 was released on April 23rd 2009).
In this case your v. 5.0 / 5.1 license is also valid with v. 5.2. Simply use the
same license key with v. 5.2. Note that re-activation is required, so you will
need your key when upgrading.
Upgrading from an earlier version to a larger v. 5.2 license (more zones):
The upgrade price is the version upgrade price for the old license size (see
table above) + the difference between v. 5.2 new license pricing (see
above) for the old license size and the new
license size.
For example if you have 2 older version "25 zones" licenses and want to upgrade
these to v. 5.2 "100 zones" licenses, the total upgrade price would be 2 x (49 +
149 - 99) = $198.00.
Upgrading from an earlier version to a smaller v. 5.2 license (fewer zones):
You may upgrade to a smaller license at the prices in the "Version upgrade prices" table above
(no credit for license size reduction).
For example if you have a single "unlimimted zones" license for an older
version, you can upgrade this to a "1000 zones" license for v. 5.2, for $99.00.
License size upgrade pricing (from a v. 5.2 license to a larger v. 5.2
license - more zones):
The upgrade price is the difference between new license pricing (see
above) for the old license size and the new
license size + $15 per license.
For example if you have 2 version 5.2 "25 zones" licenses and want to upgrade
these to "100 zones" licenses, the total upgrade price would be 2 x (149 - 99 +
15) = $130.00.
Free upgrade protection:
With any license purchase (new or upgrade), you
receive one year of free upgrade protection. This upgrade
protection entitles you to receive any updated version of the software for
free, regardless of minor or major update, within a year of the purchase.
Note about V.A.T.
For EU (European Union) customers only:
Unless you are a company with a valid VAT registration number,
25% VAT will be added to your total according to EU regulations
(Why 25% ?).
